Third Annual Taste of the CoastMarch 20, 2010 Barefoot Landing is again partnering with our neighbors at Risen Christ Lutheran School to host the third annual "Taste of the Coast at Barefoot Landing." The event will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 1l:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Local restaurants will set up booths and offer samples of their specialties. This event promises to be "The Family Fun Event of the Year" offering a family friendly atmosphere with something for everyone. The event will feature a huge "Kid Zone" with exciting games and activities including blow up rides, pony rides, carnival style games, a balloon artist, face painters, and much, much more! Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day featuring the local pop/rock band "Diversity". Entry to the event is $1.00 or one canned good. Food and ride tickets are $1.00 each. The Taste of the Coast event will raise scholarship and operating funds to benefit the students of Risen Christ Lutheran School through the support and efforts of the North Strand's culinary community and Barefoot Landing. As a result of the Eagle Fund's existence, Risen Christ is able to tell inquiring families that no truly needy child will be turned away. The event will also bring community awareness and recognition to the participants. In conjunction with the festival, Risen Christ Lutheran School, Barefoot Landing, and its merchants will again be hosting a food drive to benefit the North Strand Helping Hand. Last year's food drive raised over 5,000 pounds of food and drinks and we intend to collect even more this year!

Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the MastersApril 12, 2010 Like Hootie & the Blowfish, the Monday after the Masters enjoyed humble beginnings as a small get together among friends to raise money for junior golf. And just like Hootie & the Blowfish, their golf tournament has evolved into one of the best Celebrity Pro-Ams in the country, generating millions of dollars for children’s education through the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation and developing the South Carolina Junior Golf Association into the nation’s top program. This fun and exciting event has attracted some of the biggest names in golf & entertainment and to this day, has become one of the biggest fundraisers in South Carolina history. Darius, Dean, Mark and Soni remain true to their philanthropic roots in hosting this one-of-a-kind event and invite you to come enjoy the magic of the MAM!
