North Myrtle Beach Gets New Family Theme Park
Get ready North Myrtle Beach because family fun is about to head your way. Mark Lazarus, owner of Wild Water and Wheels, is proposing to the City Council (May 5) that they permit him to build an amusement park on Main Street near the Ocean Drive Grill and The Pavilion.
Lazarus feels there's been something missing ever since the Myrtle Beach Pavilion shut down, and he hopes his 14 to 15 ride amusement park will fill the void.
The park will be highlighted by a 60 to 75 foot Ferris Wheel and will also boast a Gravitron, Giant Swing, Fun Slide, Orient Express Coaster, Teacup Ride, Carnival Games and Food. Best of all the park will be Free to enter and tickets will only cost $3-6.
Lazarus hopes to have the park up and open to the public by August 1, but before he does he will have to get the area zoned for amusement parks with rides and off street parking as it is currently marked a Residential Care zone.
