North Myrtle Beach Amusement Park Backed By City
The brand new North Myrtle Beach amusement park, now named O.D. Pavilion and Amusement Park, has gotten a major backing from the city as the council approved an important change in the city code.
The new zoning code will allow O.D. Pavilion and Amusement Park to have parking permits, but more importantly they will be able to open the park in area originally designated as residential.
This will all become official May 18th, which is when it's penciled in to be officially reviewed by city council.
The $100,000 park is slated to open on August 1st. The city feels like it needs an amusement park that it can call it's own as they currently have to send visitors to Freestyle Music Park or Family Kingdom.
The only limitation to the park is that it is geared to families with children 12 or younger, so families with older kids will still be directed to Myrtle Beach amusement parks.
The park's rides will include a ferris wheel, small roller coaster and other typical fair like rides. Ride tickets will cost $2-3 with admission being free.
